Them doing a Black Sails type of thing where you're an independent pirate building a crew and navigating the politics of an island lead by a bunch of pirate Captains and Merchants, having to choose whether or not to join the British Empire, forming alliances with other Captains/Merchants and going to war against the others - now that would be really interesting.Įspecially if that morale mechanic you're talking about has some sort of "Nemesis" system done with mutineries, based on what the crew thinks of you as a Captain, with some of them splitting off and making their own crews. And obviously, Sea of Thieves isn't really focused on a Single-player story experience.Īre there any games out there like what I'm describing? What would you want to see in a great pirate game?

I really love Black Flag, but I always felt that it was kept from being a full pirate game by the need to be an Assassin's Creed game. The only pirate games I've played are Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Sea of Thieves. We got something like this in Assassin's Creed IV, with the pirates of Nassau, but I'd really like to build up personal connections with the crew itself. Imagine having fun getting to know each member of your pirate crew and doing missions with each of them.

One thing I love about RDR2 is moving around with the gang and getting to know them and like them over time. A big open world to sail in and explore, with tons of detail and lots of piratey things to do.

I'm playing through RDR2 again and I got me thinking of how nice it would be to have a pirate game similar to it. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
